Join the fight against the NMLA with Nova Navy, the official supporters of Hadrian Augustus Duval and Nova Paresa!

"Nova Imperium survives in the Paresa system, a single light in the darkness.

We stand for an Empire that respects everyone, from slaves to senators.

I truly hope that any who value honour and tradition will help keep our spark alive."

Nova Navy was formed three years ago in response to the purge of January 3305, when supporters of Hadrian Duval were publicly executed and their families arrested across the Empire.

Our goal was to protect Nova Imperium from further attacks and influence the outcome of the storyline. When the Federation invaded with the goal of executing Hadrian, we achieved the first ever Imperial war CG victory over them, defending our home and being acknowledged on GalNet by the developers. And this is simply the crowning achievement out of a long history that has seen Nova Imperium rise above the tragedies and oppression of the past.

    We're not done yet.

    • Work with other pilots to influence the outcome of galactic events and to oppose the blight lurking within the superpowers.
    • Govern your very own star system with the full support of Nova's fleets.
    • Be part of a helpful community and recieve aid and advice on all areas of the game, from combat to exploration to just making money.

We look forward to welcoming you, wherever you come from.

    Memento Mordanticus!

A friendly reminder that the best way to gain Federal/Imperial navy rank are passenger rescue missions.

A friendly reminder that the best way to gain Federal/Imperial navy rank are passenger rescue missions.

    Things to know:

    • Missions refresh every 20 minutes.
    • Amount of +++ of REP reward is the factor that contributes to rank progression, not the passenger amount.
    • When you reach 100% of your current keep going, progress is still counting towards next ranks.
    • Frontier being Frontier has not removed Fines for loitering landing pads, so you can get fined inside the burning station where there is no redemption office and that's annoying. Duh.

    What to equip:

    • Economy class passenger cabins, they are not picky ;)
    • 1 or 2 Heat Sinks, unless you have a really cool running ship, G5 Thermal Spread powerplant cool.
    • Shield generator. There are some debris roaming around, and occasional explosions may push you around.
    • You can buy extra passenger cabin matching size of your fuel scoop and transfer it to Rescue Megaship, or get there scoopless.
    • Some people also take collector limpets and collect stuff like escape pods etc. for missions on the megaships. I never did that as collecting them inside the station is a bit whacky but it is an option :)

To find systems with active rescue missions search for stations with 'Rescue' Economy:*

After 700 hours of play time I finally decided to make the trip

An idea to fix odyssey on foot weapons.

    Posted: 12 Feb 2022 01:37 AM PST

Currently in odyssey, the on foot weapons mechanic is thermal for shield, kinetic for armor, plasma for both. This means that you will have to juggle weapons mid fight if you want to be effective or use plasma weapons (with the plasma AR being the worst gun in the game by far)

Instead why don't fdev take an approach make some guns easy to use, others more difficult with scaling damage (something similar to ships having fixed, gimbal and turreted version)

Thermal weapons-hitscan, no recoil, lowest damage due to them being the easiest to use

Kinetic-almost hitscan (basically flies like a true projectile) high recoil with slightly more damage than thermal weapons (due to recoil increasing the gun difficulty)

Plasma - not hitscan (slow moving shots) with considerable recoil. Highest damage weapon at the expense it's hardest to use

And for balancing a G2 thermal can do the same overall dps and g1 plasma, with kinetic being somewhere in the middle.

Also scrap the damage resistance system and just balance it out with the damage of the weapons and health on the suits.

Tldr:make weapon damage scale with difficulty and scrap the whole resistance mechanic

    Edit: typos

    We have returned.

    Posted: 11 Feb 2022 10:54 PM PST

Well Cmdr's. Its been a loooooooong journey. I have finally returned to the bubble from my first trip to colonia. It was a grueling process of jump, scoop, jump, scoop in my combataconda with its paltry 28ly jump range... probably took around 15-1600 jumps total. But man what a sense of accomplishment (for me at least) after completing such a trip. Banked around 100mil or so total on explo data. Got my name on a surprising number of systems. All in all the experience (in my opinion) was highly worth it. Now to finally take a breather and grind out these last 2 ranks for my corvette and have some fun kitting it out. how many of you have made the trip, and what were your experiences?

In the meantime, fly dangerous cmdr's. o7.
