- Even now, chaos crawls forth from the infernal void. The gnashing jaws of death stretch wide and the Far God waits for you there. He is the most vile and ancient one; the end of all things. For a time, the Galaxy will be consumed by violence and fury, but it will end in silence, darkness, and death.
- TIL you can get Guardian Ancient Keys as a commodity reward for doing Anti-Thargoid massacre missions
- Ah. Well, If sentinels can levitate, why not this thing?

_Venting_ Rescue Missions are Irritating Posted: 09 Jan 2020 09:06 AM PST So I just got back from four months in the black. Good times. Looking to re-engage the populated worlds. Find out the Thargoids have returned. Okay, good timing. Gives me something to do that's new for me. I fly over to Atlas in my big-ass Beluga, got me a docking computer because I keep getting stuck in the f*****g mail slot. So, I land. Launching heatsinks left and right while my shieldless ship is getting tossed around by explosions. I'm loving it. Intense, great sound design, real sense of danger, etc, etc. I get a fine for "blocking" the station entrance while trying to delicately navigate my massive-ass ship through the slot, as the docking computer isn't working. Presuming it has to negotiate with the station, which is offline. Irritating, but I get it. Okay. But I get this fine. So I've blown up twice before getting stuck. Now I've cleared it, but got a fine. So I land. And now I can't take any passengers because I'm a 'criminal?' Like, your station is on F*****G fire. Who wouldn't jump on the first damn ship they could, even if it was flown by Darth F*****G Vader!? So now I gotta leave. Pay fines. Come back and hope I don't get more. What the f**k? I'm trying to save lives and have fun here, Elite. [link] [comments]
What lore friendly reason do you think there is for some bridges and cockpits to be so large? Posted: 09 Jan 2020 10:48 AM PST There's no artificial gravity on ships and although commanders have mag-boots to walk around (like The Expanse) having played games set in zero G having such large spaces can be a bit tricky. If you drift off slowly in one direction without realising it, it could be a long time before you can get another hand hold. Having watched One Year In Space on Netflix (a documentary covering astronaut Scott Kelly as he is sent off onto the International Space Station for one year to test the impact of space travel on the human body) one thing he says he looked forward to is putting things down and them not drifting off. So having large spaces seems like a design liability if you do need to get something and it's in this large space you've got to push off and aim for. So what lore friendly reason do you think there is for some bridges and cockpits to be so large? [link] [comments]
