There should be more ways to fight slavery in elite

    Posted: 16 Nov 2020 09:58 AM PST

As far as I can tell, the only ways to really fight slavery are to overthrow a faction that allows slavery with a faction that doesn't, or through Powerplay. I think it'd be super cool if you could

    a) free any slaves you come across

    b) specifically attack slave traffickers and acquire their slaves (to free)

    c) pay off an imperial slave's debt to free them

    d) specifically target slave traffickers in a system and hurt the slavery economy of said system

As a black American who is a descendant of slavery, the idea of being John-Brown-but-in-space (John Brown is a famous American abolitionist, infamous depending on who you ask) is incredibly appealing, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Edit: I really didn't think it'd be that controversial to say I want to fight slavery. People are disappointing sometimes

Memorial for Operator83 - official memorial video as a way of saying "thank you" to ED community

    The video is here: https://youtu.be/mYmJ79_P4-s

The ED community responded to our announcement of the commemoration event (see post: https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/jsa3nv/memorial_service_for_a_friend_and_cmdr/) in large numbers and totally humbled our small player group.

The memorial service was held at 14th November 2020 in-game in our home system. We expected that some people will come, but were humbled and honored when hundreds of players came to pay their respects, alot of which have never met him or knew him before. The ED community has time and time again proven to be a special kind of people and we are all very touched by your support in giving our fallen comrade a deserved send-off.

BIG shares with you this memorial video as a token of gratitude, capturing a 10 minute collage of the players passing by Zoka's ship on the final display during the wake. This video will also be shared with his family, who knew about his love for ED.

There were too many of you to show, in total our in-game system statistic is showing that over 300 players came to the event, some of you patiently waiting for hours while we battled the instancing. Apologies if your pass is not shown in the video - it would simply be too long.

Cmdrs, you have our deepest gratitude. o7.

Just requested my assets to be transferred, very excited to start playing again

    Posted: 16 Nov 2020 12:26 PM PST

I have 300-400 hours logged on my Xbox commander, and maybe 3 billion or so credits. Sold the Xbox and now play on a PC, and I decided to start playing again. I really didn't want to do a complete fresh start so I'm glad I can transfer my credits even if my faction and elite ranks don't transfer. Now I can change my hud color
