Player bounties should be fully claimable.

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 07:45 AM PST

Referring to the 2m cap on bounties here. With the absolute ease of making money anymore, the risk of money transfer doesn't make much sense. Maybe somebody will get a hefty chunk of change, but the other guy needs to pay it anyways so there's that issue as well.

Additionally, some of the best-equipped and most skilled players are going to be your targets if you're actually bounty hunting these guys. They're elusive, creative, hard to kill, and most importantly, other players. Taking one of them down should be a well-paying endeavor, not just a "ty for 2m" thing since that's two LTDs at the right place.

    That's all.

1:1 Cobra Mk3 in space engineers (no mods). I had to redo the airlock so I could actually do engine rooms. Also, I'm thinking about adding in a functional landing gear with the stairs access on it but I don't know how that's gonna turn out. Really happy with how it's piecing together so far.

Ten minutes of an intense 1v1 PVE battle, Novice Cmdr vs Elite Federal Assault ship. Final result, fade to black as both of our ships explode at the exact same time. Bittersweet - to get the kill and pay up 4m ship rebuy.

    PSA: Throttle and you

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 01:04 PM PST

I have seen a number of posts recently about throttle when used with supercruise assist.

When supercruise assist engages, by default it will temporarily override your throttle setting, keeping you in the blue so you don't miss your destination, but your throttle is still actually set to whatever it was last. When assist later disengages (for any reason, interdiction, destination obscured, destination reached) your last throttle setting is reapplied.

In practice this usually plays out like: You set full throttle, assist takes over, you go afk, assist disengages, throttle goes back to full, you hit something :(

Well, you need not hit anything! As soon as assist takes over, then set your throttle to 0. Just cut it completely. I use a key bind on pc, but however you do it, just zero it out. Even though the ship will not respond immediately to you changing the setting (since assist is currently in charge) it is changed, and when assist stops your new setting will be applied causing your ship to safely come to a stop, thus avoiding any collisions.

This works when jumping as well (and charging for supercruise). You must throttle up to start the countdown, but as soon as the countdown begins you can zero the throttle, and the ship will take the setting and apply it as soon as the jump completes, leaving you safely stopped on the other end and not face checking the star.

I hope this helps clear up any confusion.

    Edit: a few words.

You don't need enemies when you have allies like that.

I'll never trust my flight assist again. I went to the toilet and came back just in time to save my ass from total annihilation.
