Did I find Raxxla?!? I know it was probably just a weird bug, but this was odd. The disappearing planet.
I'll make custom banners for you. I enjoy making them and I just use basic tools and ideas... They aren't anything crazy but I can work in both spectrums if you had something more elaborate in mind ! <3 o7

CMDR DOG something...

I am a new player (less than 2 weeks). After getting some new ships, I spent hours (~6) looking around different systems to find meta alloys and finally try my first engineering upgrade (FDS of course!).

I finally found one. Dear god. Took days of playing. Time to go get that upgrade! The station was 22 jumps away. Took forever. I finally found it. It took me 3 tries to get into orbit by Farseer Inc (still getting the hang of landing on planets). I finally got there and got my landing request made. Oh boy! Lined up with the platform and begin my descent.

Then it happened.

I was about seconds away from touching down on the landing pad (it took over my radar). All of a sudden my ship launches super fast straight into the ground. I panic. No shields. Hull destroyed. Two seconds of shock then boom - I explode. The camera panned out to show you in your big ass ship reverse thrusting away from station lasers. You had destroyed me by ramming me with your ship into the ground - not a shot fired.

I sat in shock for 10m. Were you just camping that landing pad? For what? For a few minutes of chuckles for you? Was that really enjoyable? Are you bored fighting competent pilots?

I had lost days of game time. I hysterically checked galaxy map. I respawned 15 jumps from where I had found the alloys - which was 22 jumps from Farseer. I almost quit on the spot.

All I have to say is this: thank you.

I respawned and went back to work. I got way better at quickly plotting, fuel scooping, and jumping. I found the alloys much faster as I improved my DSS and SRV skills. I got back to Farseer and docked quickly and flawlessly first try. Got underground quick and kicked off my upgrades.

Then I found the r/elitebountyhunters. Now I'm working on my pvp build. I had previously started feeling lost in the giant sandbox - not really knowing what to prioritize. Not anymore.

I finally have a purpose. I finally have a drive. I'm getting better and more eager than ever to hop back in the cockpit.

I may never find you again. It doesn't matter.

I will be dedicating my time to hunting your kind. If I can help provide vindication for just one new player like me, it will be worth it.

I've been playing for just over a week. So far: six deaths, two prison sentences, two hours to scan a surface data link (you have to hover), spent 25 minutes with the SRV on its back in a crevasse, had three targets killed by the cops and the fails wrecked my rep, and so forth. Currently staggering around in an AspE with an overpowered beam laser that lasts about 7 seconds.

Having a whale of time.
