    The Balkan Intergalactic Guerilla (BIG) group is sad to announce that we have lost a dear friend and fellow Commander, 37-year-old Commander Operator83 (known as Zoka) to COVID19.

    Zoka was one of the original members of BIG. He was a proud Imperial warrior who answered the first call to mobilisation and volunteered to defend their home system, Rudjer Boskovic, against aggression by Federal groups in the year 3300.

    Having proved himself as a very capable combat pilot he was selected to represent team BIG in seasons 1 and 2 of the prestigious Pilots' Federation pilot-versus-pilot league in 3301. His finest hour came in a famous tie-breaker victory, when he helped our team to secure a third place in the galaxy.

    Following this victory he was promoted to the rank of Voivoda (Duke), the highest honour bestowed by BIG. He went on to share his enormous experience with new members as a flight instructor and mentor. Zoka also proved to be an excellent SRV driver and climber.

    In 3302 he answered humanity's call to defend against the growing Thargoid threat in the frontline systems around Asterope.

    Finally, this seasoned veteran decided to seek solitude and fulfill his lifelong longing for exploration by setting out with the Distant Worlds 2 expedition in 3304.

    He answered the call of the black — and the black finally took him — on October 24th this year.

    His roaring laughter in the face of danger and most difficult of times kept the group together and their spirits up. It will be sadly missed.

    We invite all commanders who would like to come and pay their respects to join us on November 14th on the Fleet Carrier Operator83 Memorial in the Rudjer Boskovic system, starting at 20:00 UTC (open). Commanders are invited to fly past his ship and the guard of honour and fire chaff as a final salute to a beloved member of the BIG and wider community.

    Some dodgy player mafia s**t going on

    Travel all the way to Maia and then to Deciat to deliver one meta alloy in my Hauler to unlock Farseer. I was 14m from landing on the pad and I get blown to smithereens by another player. I unfortunately respawn at Deciat instead of Maia and the player directs me to the local Megaship selling Meta alloys for extreme costs. Bounty hunters may you bring these villains to justice!

    Guardian augmented ships

    I feel like when you outfit a ship with guardian components there should be some kind of visual or audio change to the ships functions to show off the change. Like with an FSD booster, something small like having the engines of my anaconda be highlighted with small blue streaks of guardian energy or make my FSD sound different when its charging up. Little things like that would go a long way.

    Demand for an Elite Taxi Service

    As the title suggets, I'm curious how many folks out there would be interested in an Elite Taxi service that uses Fleet Carriers (and potentially ships in odyssey).

    I know the game is getting a taxi service, though I suspect it might be much slower than a pilot with a well engineered FSD.

    I've seen many commanders broadcasting their fleet carriers' route during events and exploration ventures, so I figured it could be handy to have a website dedicated to exactly this.

    Do let me know what you think and if it's something you might use, or if there is already something like this out there.

    Continually running into Route plotting failures...

    A friend and I are data runners, 1000+ ly runs. Good profit and fun to explore the galaxy. But continually we run into plotting failures due to unmarked 'locked unknown permit' zones which can cause 3-500 ly diversions in some cases.

    While the diversions aren't a super big deal it does add time to already long runs and it sometimes can be an absolute ballache to plot around them as they is no indicator on the galaxy map of how much space up taken up by these restricted zones; how far we need to jump to get around them in other words.

    Has anyone worked out how to identify these on the map to make plotting easier?
