    Gravity in outposts

    I think I've become irrationally annoyed at some inconsistencies in the outposts in Odyssey.

    They say no gravity when you disembark, but there is trash on the floor (notably some pizza boxes at one outpost) near the bay, boxes in piles all over the place. Leaves on plants droop, there are open glasses of liquids at the bar and I've seen a dolly to load stock in the gear shop.

    I get that they are re-using assets from the spin stations that would be fine with these things, but it would have been nice the outposts to actually have a different feel because of the lack of gravity instead of just being smaller versions.

    Is Odyssey still horribly unoptimized or is my computer just showing its age?

    I'm running an AMD 8350 at 4ghz, 16 gigs of ram, and a GTX 1080.

    Outside of my ship I struggle to get even 30 fps when in combat with enemy AI. I get constant lag spikes during all other activities, including jumping and a noticeable fps drop when entering stations. I don't have a good benchmark because I haven't really stayed current with pc games and this system is about 4 years old now. I ran Horizons at a steady 60 fps. I know some things have been enhanced so I'm wondering how much is due to poor optimization and how much is due to aging hardware.

    tl;dr

    Are performance issues still common after all these patches or is my system just a wimp now? Thanks

    Is this game interesting if you only want to explore with minimal combat?

    I LOVE space content most of my youtube recommendations is filled with it so I thought why not search a game about space and found Elite Dangerous.

    Like I said I only really want to explore see black holes, neutron stars, other gas giants, other suns etc. Space combat on the other hand never looked interesting to me so I want to keep that to a minimum.

    Performance is another concern I heard new expansion is pretty bad in terms of FPS but will I be affected by it if I don't buy the it?

    Also my specs are GTX 970, i5 8400, 16 gb ram. System req. on steam is pretty low and is not updated I'm assuming so can I run the game with my PC?
