- A Phantom World, almost pitch black atmosphere and no surface, one can glide in it for a really long time, altimeter says the surface is -1m away once below 10km, and if you glide long enough, nothing will surround you but darkness. Crazy scary experience. Did anyone ever found something like this?

The Huge Class Revisited (Odyssey Edition). The Q4 update is long behind us, fleet carriers (a huge vessel in their own right) have come, and now Odyssey has fallen upon us (In all the ways that can be interpreted). With the most recent revelation that Ship Interiors (aka Space Legs) are still not in the road map, i'd like to revisit (again) this long requested (and promised) feature to Elite. The ability to own and operate a "Huge Class" of ships. With unique gameplay attached to them exclusively. Below are the new updated stats for Odyssey, along side each unique gameplay for these ships: All Huge Class will have the same features: Need to be docked to special docking buoys when visiting certain Orbital Stations (OS). NOTE: Core and optional internals are shown at Max Class, unless otherwise stated. Multipurpose/Combat - BOA MK3. Manufacturer: Faulcon DeLacy. Cost: 587,877,800 CR. Insurance: 18,373403. Top Speed: 283 m/s. Boost Speed: 344 m/s. Maneuverability: 1Shields: 390 MJ. Armor: 2000.Hull Mass: 800 t. Max Cargo Capacity: 1,188 t. Fuel Capacity: 140 t. Unladen Jump Range: 12.41 ly. As I crunch my way up the upgrade paths, I'm finding the mat requirements pushing into 'tedious' territory. Knowing that I need a ton more chemical broth to upgrade my plasma weapons, and that means arc cutting 50 more random closets, is a bit meh. It would be good to have more diverse ways of hoovering them up...

In Odyssey, on-foot, we have these energy cells, and on the ship we can store up to 100 of those. We can use these energy cells to recharge our suit, and keep suit life-support going. So...
edit: Come to think of it, in dire situations, I think you can land your ship, get out, and wait for a shuttle / rescue, instead of dying inside your ship. [link] [comments] | ||
