Tin foil hat time - aka what I see going on in Cornsar *SPOILERS*

    Posted: 20 Sep 2021 11:04 AM PDT

A warning from Salvation out of left field about a Thargoid attack in Cornsar.

Thargoid interest in Cornsar seemed unwarranted given the known components in the system.

Combat aftermath signal begin to spawn near planets in Cornsar. They are human ship remains carrying guardian components normally located only at AI monolith networks, aka guardian ruins.

After requested deliveries of unknown guardian technology disguised as medical supplies, unknown combatants repelled the thargoid invaders almost instantly, those who did not retreat are now corpses on the planes in that system.

Now go back to a comment that the engineer Ram made a few years ago in his guardian quest log. Says the guardian AI civilian constructs killed all of the guardians (due to their violent nature). Then he wonders if they are still out there in deep space, waiting to be stumbled across:

27/28 : Body Protectorate Log – Discord Okay, from the Guardian sites we've previously investigated, we know that the Guardians' artificially intelligent Constructs were responsible for controlling the war machines and other military apparatus, as well as overseeing civilian technology and infrastructure. And we know that these Constructs eventually gained sentience and destroyed the Guardians. But it appears that it was not the military Constructs that made this choice. The Constructs for civilian utility and those for military operation were independent of one another, and it was the non-military Constructs that decided to attack the Guardians. The military Constructs were opposed to this decision, but somehow the non-military Constructs won out, forcing their military counterparts to comply with the attack. What a remarkable discovery. It makes me wonder what happened to these Constructs, and what they eventually became. Were they destroyed? Or do they still exist, somewhere in the vastness of space?

Salvation first contact - a megaship travelling in deep space had logs that described a very violent crew death. A being named Salvation shows up and asks to know more about it - text highlights added:

'Suffice to say that I am a man of science, unconnected with modern politics (1). I am recruiting agents to investigate the work undertaken by Azimuth Biochemicals two hundred years ago (2), Which I believe to be of enormous scientific importance. Much has been lost in that time (3), but our dedication will allow us to rewrite history.'

Note that the Hesperus was obviously in deep space when Salvation became aware of it.

1 - What does he actually say here? That word 'Modern' is a lot like a steak at a cheap bar. Gotta chew on it for while to get it down.

2 - 200 years ago? Who are you, Ichabod Crane? What I mean by that is why is this new to Salvation if it happened 200 years ago?

3 - Again with the sleepy hollow bit. This is underscoring a point. But what point?

Seems almost as if the 200 years of history that the Hesperus was carrying in it's log is all that Salvation was aware of at the time, and it was new information to him. And by that, I mean that was all Salvation may have known about the human race at that point.

It is almost a certainty that if the guardian civilian construct do exist in deep space, they would most certainly hunt down any violent sentient beings that came in contact with.

What is unknown is whether or not Salvation is one (or is the leader) of those civilian constructs that the hesperus came across and woke up.

Salvation never refers to an organization. He mentions 'agents', not employees. It as if he is a singular entity. He has mentioned several times that he has an inability to move - unknown if that is always or specific instances. I smell guardian AI machine on planet in locked permit system, but that's me.

    Now back to Cornsar ...

I'll be brief as this is already longer than I intended. There are guardian mats showing up in points of interest in Cornsar next to destroyed human ships. The obvious implication is that the ships were carrying those guardian mats.

    The guardian mats.

These are not the artifacts that disappeared with the Alexandria. What they are is relevant to what you've read so far. They are the objects that power what is known as a guardian AI monolith communication system, aka guardian ruins. Their are no guardian ruins in Cornsar. And the med supplies we delivered were guardian weapons of unknown origin. So that means the guardian mats floating in space are at their destination, not their source. See it yet??? Looks to me like someone is building a new guardian monolith site, complete with sentinels. Now who would have an interest in doing that? The leader of the guardian AI civilian constructs checks all of those boxes.

Y'all have been invaluable, all the tips and tricks I've seen here have made everything go so smooth. This game is incredibly fun, I can't believe I'm just now playing it. I love all the different paths you can take to make money or just have fun.

I hit the ground running, left the starter zone immediately and went to farm bounties in LTT 7421. A rated and stripped down a Dolphin and headed to Robigo to run passengers, did that until I could afford a Python and do the same thing with it. Three days in I had a billion credits and an A rated Anaconda. Spent the next couple of days unlocking engineers and upgrading the conda. Decided I wanted the Corvette and by day six It was mine! Worked out well because a lot of the engineered modules from the Conda swapped into the Vette.

Just got back from my first big trip out, a 4KLY roundtrip journey in my DBX with all the raw mats I can carry. No way I could've done all of this work so quickly without y'all, you're awesome!

Anyone on PlayStation looking for someone to play with hit me up! PSN is the same as my Reddit tag.

Anaconda loaded with SRVs to show all you need is a slightly upgraded freight conveyor. A fully loaded Anaconda could have another 4 bays (if I've counted right) and there is room to move the med bay and Captain's Quarters to accomodate them.
