    Does this ever get old?

    Posted: 11 Nov 2021 01:52 AM PST

Oh my god. Tried the engineering grind for the first time and two hours in I’ve achieved nothing and I hate engineering.

    Posted: 11 Nov 2021 03:54 PM PST

Tried to find the crashed Anaconda on Orrere and trying to find it by the coordinates is a total nightmare. Spent hours trying to zero in on it only to discover I'm on the wrong side of the planet because there's a '-' beside one of the coordinates.

My evening wasted just glaring at rolling numbers. I want to die. This is awful.

Salvation Attacked! Rogue Aegis Defense forces led by Admiral Aden Tanner are attacking Taurus Mining Ventures in the T Tauri system, aiming to obtain proof that Salvation is intentionally antagonizing the Thargoids and precipitating their attacks on human systems.

    Posted: 11 Nov 2021 05:30 AM PST

    *Pilots' Federation ALERT*

A rogue Aegis Defense force has initiated conflict with Taurus Mining Ventures in the T Tauri system.

The megaship Musashi is commanded by Aegis's chief military liaison Admiral Aden Tanner, who made this announcement:

"The Hind Mine asteroid base contains proof that Salvation's unlicensed anti-xeno weapon is intentionally designed to provoke the Thargoids, and therefore endangers us all. As Taurus Mining Ventures refuses to cooperate, we have no choice but to obtain the evidence by force."

"This may be our only opportunity to discover Salvation's true ambitions. I urge all independent pilots who have fought alongside Aegis to help us complete this vital mission."

Patience Middleton, a spokesperson for Taurus Mining Ventures, responded:

"This is an illegal attack that jeopardizes the important work we are undertaking on behalf of Salvation. It is in the galactic community's interests to defend our corporate headquarters."

Aegis officially stated that Admiral Tanner is acting on his own authority, and that the Musashi's presence in the T Tauri system is in direct violation of orders. Despite this, there are reports that Tanner has tacit support from many members of Aegis, who disagree with the public inquiry that has suspended its operations.

Thargoid push in Witch Head and Pleiades. We are not winning.

    Posted: 11 Nov 2021 12:17 AM PST

My carrier and I have been working hard this last few days (since the CG finished so early) to bring supplies to Hanna Station in Shenve to repair it. After the weekly outage just now, it's back to evacuation and only one of the three stations that were repairing, are still repairing. And the list of stations under attack has expanded.

CMDRs, The Thargoids are pushing us back. This is NOT GOOD.

edit: settlements in Coal Sack Nebula are also beset by this massive multi-pronged Xeno attack.

    Posted: 11 Nov 2021 06:59 AM PST

Recently i started engineering after a long absence. I went to see miss Farseer but got shot to pieces by another player the second i dropped near her settelment...Is this a regular thing?

The "Germainic Raiders" are chasing people now

    Posted: 11 Nov 2021 06:45 AM PST

This post has been marked journalism but it's more of a warning. I have done my reasearch by myself and my friend and have figured it out.

There's these people (not NPC, actual players) that like to raid ships and shoot them down. They (usually) don't hunt for bounties, most of the times I died, was when I was safe, but I've been interdicted a fair few times when wanted by these players

Their name usually starts with "Germanic" or "Raider" then then their actual alias.

My friend (a miner) was interdicted and robbed from by the Germanic raiders. These guys have been found in 3 hotspots

a small bubble far from Sol (600ly from it)

Near Pikum (20ly, more towards GCRV 1568, a famous painite hotspot.)

A bit far from Sagittarius A (Now the spot is dead and devoid of these raiders)

They like to use the high power ships like Anaconda, Fer De Lance, Federal Corvette and the small ones (usually backup guys, I've met only two though, wouldn't know)

The guys will stop at nearly nothing, stay safe and it is suggested to play in Solo Play if you don't want encounters. Have a good day! Stay safe commanders. I don't want to see blown up.

    o7 commanders. Good luck!

Does anyone know the name of this group of bright stars?

    Posted: 11 Nov 2021 03:35 AM PST

Found this structure a few months back by randomly flying around a moon in Achenar. It was called graveyard or something. I couldn’t interact with the structure in any way, and couldn’t even target it. It was just… there. Maybe it’s something related to odyssey?

    Current Community Goal

    Posted: 11 Nov 2021 01:38 PM PST

    who are people choosing?

I've been sat at the mission board for a long time now trying to decide.

Aegis : pros - made up of all major super powers, cons - probably corrupt and shady AF.

Salvation : pros - actively looking to aid advances in war against Thargoids. Cons - are they honest intentions? Very little known. what's their true objective, if any?

I'm sure there's so much more you can delve into about both sides.

Currently Salvation is in the lead so that says a lot. Will it even matter who wins this goal? We will see.

A thought just occurred to me, a type of on foot settlement that's missing...

    Posted: 10 Nov 2021 08:19 PM PST

There should be some outlaw settlements, like real hive of scum and villainy/wild west type places, similar to the tourist settlements but more seedy, where the mission boards and NPC mission givers are all illegal missions, some real dodgy NPC characters, outlaw type outfits as guards, and gruff voiced commands and comments from NPC. A shabby looking exterior and malfunctioning equipment and lights, each with a bar that looks more like a wild west saloon.

In addition to just the variation of aesthetics, these places (actually all settlements now that I think about it) should have rare RNG chances of some incoming 'scenarios' (like the in-space scenarios), e.g. you could be in the settlement, just browsing around and enjoying the rustic ambiance or whatnot when a band of raiders come dropping in, and you have a chance to defend it or join with in the onslaught.

    That is what is missing.

The existing settlements are good, but they all operate in the same way. They are either online or offline, filled with people going about their business or currently occupied by scavengers.

Careful running missions to minor factions at war

    Posted: 11 Nov 2021 02:10 PM PST

TL;DR: careful running missions where the target system minor faction is at war. You help one, the other one hates you for it.

Here's the background story: I picked up a Rep++++ mission as I work to "ally" myself with a minor faction. The mission's target minor faction is at war in their system. No problem, I thought, that's not my problem. Well, it is. I dropped my courier package, got my Rep++++ reward, the target minor faction was happy.... but their rival was not.

Maybe I hit a rare case of angry NPCs, maybe the RNGeezus doesn't like me, don't know. Suffice to say, the other minor faction, which is in the midst of an all-out war, thought it equitable to spare NINE (!) Anacondas to chase after me. That's right, they sent 9 Anacondas in rapid succession. Each interdicted me as soon as I entered supercruise. I mean, instantly, following FSD.

The strange thing is that I was not carrying any cargo at the time. I did have a cargo mission that I had completed yesterday but had not handed in yet. It was that mission giver that alerted me of the incoming enemies. For all intents and purposes, the scenario behaved as if I had that mission's cargo onboard (see some of the NPC dialog below).

Lucky for me, I was running the Rep missions in my "combat" ship. I normally run these in my zippy Cobra that would have been eaten alive by the 9 Anacondas. Bottom line, don't run these missions on a cargo hauler as it might not go well.

PS: To honor the 9 deaths from the "Children of Anarchy" minor faction, let's read their names aloud:

    • Ringo "I'm coming for you!" Melone
    • Artemis "I'll pick your bones clean, greenhorn" Akesoli
    • Hogso "I knew I'd find you eventually, all that tasty cargo!"
    • Ecurb "That's the ship I'm looking for, the one with the big haul..." Le'Toub
    • Max "You will keep your life if you hand over any valuable cargo you have" Werler
    • Whiteshark "You choose death then. Very well"
    • John "Big haul like that, surprised you made it this far"
    • Alan "I've found my next target and it's you, Commander" Turing
    • Kachi "The rumour was right... good job I found you first"

449 of ~1300 jumps left. Died once already, hopefully this last stretch goes just as smoothly as the first. O7
