    About a recent Fake post at the top of this subreddit

    Just a PSA for the subreddit, yesterday this was posted, a seemingly normal post complaining about gankers. However, the image in this post was not made by OP (who's account https://www.reddit.com/user/vestivayy seems to have been site banned). The actual original post was 3 years ago. Not only was this reposted, the original itself was also fake, here's a screenshot of the discord conversation with the true OP which originally brought this to my attention.

    While this isn't exactly a mass conspiracy, I just wanted make people aware that some karma farmers now are aware of this subreddit, and will be trying to toy with your emotions for easy internet points.

    If it doesn't make sense to you why someone would do this, people farm karma on bot accounts like this to make them seem more realistic and difficult to ban. They will then sell them to another organization/individual so they can be used to astroturf political posts, brigade, etc.

    What Is Elite Dangerous Market Connector?

    Elite Dangerous Market Connector ("EDMC") is a third-party application for use with Frontier Developments' game "Elite Dangerous". Its purpose is to facilitate supplying certain game data to, and in some cases retrieving it from, a number of websites and other tools.

    To achieve this it utilises the Journal Files written by the game when played on a PC. It also makes use of Frontier's Companion API ("Frontier's CAPI"), accessible once you've authorised this application.

    EDMC has a plugin system which many other developers have made use of to extend its functionality.

    NB: This application is of no use with a Console game account. We now test against, and package with Python 3.9.7. As a consequence of this we no longer support Windows 7, due to Python 3.9.x itself not supporting Windows 7.

    As has become routine now, various anti-virus software are reporting a false positive on our installer and/or files it contains. I've pre-emptively uploaded the installer to VirusTotal if you want to check what it's saying. Please see our Troubleshooting/AV-false-positives FAQ for further information.

    Release 5.2.1

    This release primarily addresses the issue of the program asking for Frontier authorization much too often.

    • Actually utilise the Frontier Refresh Token when the CAPI response is "Unauthorized". The re-factoring of this code to make CAPI queries threaded inadvertently prevented this.

    Thanks to all that reported this problem, helped track it down, and tested the release candidates.

    You know how you can wave at your ship and it takes off, or how you can point at something and drop a marker? How cool would it be to be able to point at a star in your ship and flag it for jump without having to go to the galaxy map! Moreover, what about an option to "show local bookmarks" LIVE in the skybox itself? Just some thoughts I figure I'd put out there. Hopefully this gains traction and Frontier sees it.

    I have been meaning to go through them and reclassify them. Also I have also heard there is a maximum amount you can have like 100 or 500 or something which I am likely fast approaching. I have been simply bookmarking every system of interest for the past year and a half. 0_0

    Do you have a system (no pun intended)? What happens if you hit the maximum if there is one? Is there a way to clear them or sort them through a third party app or website? Thanks.

    So, when travelling at relativistic speeds and beyond as well as spending time near and around black holes or neutron stars, shouldn't time outside one's pervue be passing incredibly quick? I'm just curious if there's lore in the game that supports how doing this stuff and then returning to the bubble as though I just left, is handled. Otherwise there would be several new faction leaders every equivalent 90 years or so. Spending an hour flying around SagA* should make several decades pass in the bubble, no?

    And yes I know I'm asking for ridiculous game time handling but what I really want to know is, do the FSDs compensate in some way? Or is some other tech responsible as part of the game universe?

    Im new to the game, and when i saw that i can buy what essentially is a rover, i nagged the chance and got it. Managed to get these shots.
