[Suggestion] Getting triple elite should unlock an additional commander slot. Frontier should sell a separate additional slot for £7 - £10 ($9-$12).

    Posted: 10 Oct 2019 06:20 AM PDT

The most fun I've had in a while is starting again from scratch on an extra account I have. I think it would be a boon to Frontier to allow veteran players an easy way to experience that without the hassle of switching steam or frontier accounts. The price above would be equal to the price of the base game on sale.

As a bonus they could have 0 to elite races, a new commander race to Colonia (with trade/cargo scooping restrictions to avoid cheating), or even allow players to go back and start over and try out the low level ships they originally skipped (loving my Viper MkIV).

Folks who play in wings would also have an easier time as they could all log out their extra commanders in the same system.

To keep this from being abused in PvP, they could lock you to your current active commander (can't switch to an alt) for a set amount of hours if you commit a crime in open.

I think folks would me more likely to invest in skins and enhancements if they could apply to different commanders they play.

    Thoughts?

    Edit: clarification above.

    Interstellar Initiatives! Fatboys, lets go!

Would the developers be open to implementing a "Long Jump" feature in the future?

    Posted: 10 Oct 2019 03:27 AM PDT

I haven't played this game in quite some time, so please bear with me.

The last time that I had played with any consistency (a little more than 2 years ago, during the whole Salome thing), it took about 40 minutes to 1 hour to jump 1,000 light years without the use of any Neutron Stars or special FSD boosting materials, and this was in an Asp with a 40ish light year max jump range. What the title of the thread refers to is a simple in-flight option that gives the player the ability to plot a course and jump the entire distance in one long sitting (whose length could be artificially exaggerated for the sake of balance and/or in-universe lore). As an example, if I wanted to jump 1,000 light years, I'd select the star, confirm the travel time (the flight time would be increased to offset the much lower rate of fuel consumption, so 1 hour's worth of normal jumping could be extended up to a 1.5 hour long jump or more at FDev's discretion), then engage the FSD as usual.

The reason why I am asking for this is because I'm assuming that space legs and ship interiors are going to be released sometime around late 2020/early 2021, and if that is the case, I'd like to experience the movie-esque side of hyperspace travel, which is something that I've wanted from Elite: Dangerous for years. Being able to leave the commander's chair, relax, perform repairs, and do various other things aboard the ship enroute to its destination; the kind of experience you see in science fiction movies during long-distance hyperspace flight.

I personally think this kind of feature, if it ever sees the light of day, should be held off until the release of space legs and ship interiors, otherwise it'll be quite boring (though nowhere near as monotonous as current long-distance jumping) to sit in the pilot's seat staring at the hyperspace animation for an hour, though that's just my opinion.
