    Having fun with gankers

    Posted: 18 Dec 2019 04:28 AM PST

I have taken a fair bit of abuse on these forums from gankers who feel that their ability to blow me up in 2 shots is somehow enjoyable to me. That's OK. The world is what it is and at my age you accept certain things. So I thought I would share my experiences on how to have a little fun annoying the daylights out of gankers.

You will need a fast ship (Millenium Falcon fast) so a Viper MkIII is perfect. Now, strip it back to the bolts, don't even fit weapons. Don't worry about survivability, a fully engineered and equipped MkIII versus a fully kitted out ganker isn't going to last any longer. D rate everything except the thrusters, go with the biggest A rated thrusters that you can manage. If you can engineer them then engineer them to dirty drag drives as far as you can. If you can engineer your distributor then go with the thruster option.

Now, head off to where there is a CG or Deciat or some other place where they gather and wait. When they interdict you submit and then, as soon as you can control your ship, run. Full speed and boost (all pips to engines, 2 to SYS). Most gankers use fixed weapons or ramming so go into silent running (del key on the PC version) get jiggling up and down and make yourself a harder target, you won't need to for long. You'll soon have enough of a gap that will mean that they can't use their weapons. Eventually they will get bored and low wake away.

Rinse and repeat. What is even more fun is stick an interdictor on your ship and interdict them. Then run away messaging "git gud lulz".

They will get you once or twice but rebuy on a ship like that is peanuts. You can then add all of the gankers to your block list and enjoy the game in open. Gankers are not the norm, they are the exception.

It's a nice surprise to be able to catch a couple sunrises at once when you're out in the black.

Just remembering a quote I read from another Redditor a while ago.......'The best thing to do with a T10 Defender is paint it bright yellow and write CAT on the side' .......I think they were right!!!!

    Reaching Colonia

Took this pic after finally arriving at Colonia and I think it turned out pretty nice. I just love the feeling of human presence so far away from the bubble.
