Posted: 28 Apr 2020 07:26 AM PDT as an example, take the existing gameloop of bounty hunting in extraction zones: you jump in, NPCs mine and die under pirate fire, while we scan ship after ship for wanted condas to fill our pockets. new Fleet-Carrier game loop: FC jumps at ring, and we descend with our NPC fleet (which we bought with credits). NPC pirates will now pirate our NPC ships, so the name of the game is: don't let NPC pirates destroy YOUR ships. At the end you might get credits because your mini fleet mined stuff without getting any losses, or you might loose credits because pirates managed to kill your ships after your weak defense. Will you buy expensive mining ships that can take a beating? pros: they might live through. cons: if you loose them, they didn;t come cheap. Let's say you do make money. what now? take the existing gameloop of conflict zones: at the moment you jump in and pew-pew until victory, and if you get enough of these victories for the same faction, the faction comes on-top on this system. new Fleet-Carrier game loop: if you want a faction to win, you jump in the conflict zone with YOUR fleet. The ships that die on your team is money out of your pocket. Again same risk/reward dilemmas as in mining: buy expensive stuff and hope to roflstomp the zone, but at the same time risk being matched against NPC engineered ships that roflstomp your fleet, or go in with el-cheapo ships, but have very low possibility of winning the fight? Is there cake? well how about you get the system for a week if you actually pull this off? edit: of course changes to number and engineering mods to NPCs must be done to balance the godly condas and corvettes we all currently have, and which can solo conflict zones [link] [comments] | ||
