Elite's "game breaking" problems at the moment

    Posted: 04 Apr 2020 04:16 AM PDT

As fas as I can see it atm, Frontier's main problem is

Ok, so we'll communicate this well in advance

HOW DARE YOU! I want things NOW not in the future!

OK, we'll wait and communicate when things are closer and we can show you

HOW DARE YOU! You don't communicate enough!

Ok, so we'll tell you about things in advance, but with development bear in mind that things may change before release

HOW DARE YOU! We want what you "promised". You can't change this!"

Ok, so we're going to concentrate on bug fixing

HOW DARE YOU! I want CONTENT!

Ok, we'll focus on adding new content

HOW DARE YOU! You need to fix these bugs first!!

Ok, we'll give lots of small updates and bug fixes leading up to a huge update next year

HOW DARE YOU! WE WANT BIG CONTENT NOW!!!

Ok so we'll release an update for new commanders to help them into the game

HOW DARE YOU! What about us who have been playing the game for a long time?!!

Ok, so the next update has a huge in game price and is made for those who have been playing the game for a long time

HOW DARE YOU! NOTHING FOR NEW PLAYERS??!?!?

So here's a tiny tiny brief glimpse of what's coming. we don't want to say too much until the reveal in just a few days time

HOW DARE YOU! I am so angry about this tiny thing which you haven't given detail on

    Ok so here's the content

HOW DARE YOU! This content doesn't fit my exact play style!!

Ok, so we can tell you that the upkeep cost which you've all been chimping out about is 10 million weekly

HOW DARE YOU! This is adding grind to the game! How can we afford 10 million per week?!?!?!?

Weren't you all complaining about how easy it is to get money a minute ago?

I AM ANGRY!!!!! HOW DARE YOU! !!!

My own ship doesn't love me

Just calculated my carrier decommissioning time

    Posted: 04 Apr 2020 09:01 AM PDT

Based on an upkeep cost of 10MCr a week, if I transfer half of my credit balance to the carrier it will be decommissioned in about nine and a half years. Just in time for the Beta of Star Citizen...

I hate...HATE...that the Imperial Clipper requires a large landing pad

    Posted: 04 Apr 2020 05:05 AM PDT

I love the Clipper. It's a magnificent ship. Its superb handling and speed make it amazing to fly, and I doubt there's a CMDR in the galaxy who would deny its aesthetic beauty. But because of its nacelles, it is forced to land on large pads. Because of this, it is forced to compete against other large class ships, at which point it loses in practically every contest. This means there is literally no functional reason to fly it.

Wanna transport cargo? Most large ships can carry more. Wanna shoots stuff? Most large ships have more firepower and manoeuvrability. If it were a medium pad ship, it could at least be used for outpost deliveries. Sure, it would compete with the Python, but that is a pretty even contest, considering (apart from the nacelles) they're the same fucking size.

I'm not asking fdev to change it, because obviously that's an impossibility, I'm just ranting that my favourite ship is literally useless. You can't even really use it as a stepping stone, like you can with the Adder or Cobra, because it's rank locked. Nobody has ever unlocked the Clipper before they've had the money to buy a Python.

I don't think there's any better way to put into context how irrelevant combat is for money-making than these two images.

My friend is trying a new type of ship : the VRS with thrusters. It's kinda working for now. Need more practice.

If we can’t have space legs..

    Posted: 04 Apr 2020 01:15 PM PDT

Can we perhaps have more camera views from the interior of our ships, specifically the big ships like the anaconda, cutter, and corvette which have very prominent side windows. it would be so cool to look out of these windows and give players the sense of scale they want from space legs.

I doubt it would be nearly as taxing as the implementation of space legs and would give a close enough feeling of how big your ship is and how big things are outside your ship.

But you could also just give us space legs which would be cool too. Actually how about just give us space legs.

    Commodities Selling Price

    Posted: 04 Apr 2020 01:58 PM PDT

You may also have encounter this problem when you have your cargo full of stuff and that you are leading to a station to sell thoses. Of course you checked the sell price on eddb or any other websites. But as you stand on the landing pad , the price of thoses goods are smaller than expected.

The reason of this is because you have a lot of the same commodities and the price is reduced in function of the amount you have.

So i tried to plot the function of this price reduction.

Here are my result with Low Temperature Diamonds at the Anderson City sation in the Kanandos system.

Note that after you sell some units the game will take 10 minutes to update the price and the demand will be reset.

Demand: 504 units Max Selling price: 1,728,317 Cr
    500+ units 401,975 Cr
    490 units ? Cr
    480 units ? Cr

    230 units 939,360 Cr
    220 units 976,575 Cr

    200 units 1,051,005 Cr
    190 units 1,088,220 Cr
    180 units 1,125,435 Cr
    170 units 1,162,650 Cr

    50 units 1,609,230 Cr
    40 units 1,646,445 Cr
    30 units 1,683,660 Cr
    20 units 1,720,875 Cr
    18- units 1,728,317 Cr

With those data i manage to find a linear function that will predict how much we will earn:

    y = 1,795,305 - 3,721.5x ( y = selling price , x = amount you have )

This equation is not fully working, i will post update as i collect more data.

That would be nice anybody help me to fill this chart.

Thanks to DrProid , BigC_castane for the help
