    I recently got a new job at a marina as a Berthing Master (I know, I know, it sounds like some kind of midwife). I was in the middle of a nightshift and the radio crackled " u/RegularJay114's Marina, this is VisitingVessel, requesting a berth for tonight, over" to which I reply "No problem Sir, make your way into the lock on the green lights and proceed to berth D56". It was at that point that it hit me, my job is the guy in the station that accepts docking requests. Now I love my job even more. So, shout-out to all my hard working Docking Masters out there! We do more than tell you where to go!
