    SUPPLY EMPIRE CAPITAL SHIP PRODUCTION

    The Imperial Navy has requested commodities for the construction of new capital ships in Mandh. The Imperial Senate has approved funding for the construction of a new wave of Majestic-class Interdictors.

    Senator Denton Patreus announced: "We face adversaries on all sides and from within, eager to corrupt and destroy our proud Empire. This is a time to bolster our strength and our resolve."

    A request has been made by Artemis Corporation for shipments of Building Fabricators, Microbial Furnaces and Energy Grid Assemblies to Miyasaka Orbital in the Mandh system. Should the initiative be successful, each tier will provide enough commodities to complete a new capital ship. Alongside this, Miyasaka Orbital will be improving stock and providing a two-week discount on a range of modules starting on the 4th of December.

    • Tier 1 is 5% off Laser weapons
    • Tier 2 increase to 10% and adds Defensive modules such as ECMs
    • Tier 3 increase to 15% and adds Shields, Armour and Hull reinforcement
    • Tier 4 increase to 20% and adds Projectile weapons
    • Tier 5 Increase to 30% and adds Missiles and other explosives

    If successful, decals will be rewarded to the top 75% of participants by the 5th of December 3306.

    The Federal Navy has requested commodities for the construction of new capital ships in Parutis. President Zachary Hudson has convinced Congress to increase funding for the Federal Navy, and to advance the construction programme for Farragut-class Battle Cruisers.

    In a powerful address, he said: "Defending the Federation is our highest priority in these uncertain times. It is vital that we reinforce our capability to protect the people from all threats."

    The Federal Navy urgently requires additional resources to meet the new shipbuilding timetable. Deliveries of Building Fabricators, Microbial Furnaces and Energy Grid Assemblies are requested by Labour Of Parutis at Schweickart City in the Parutis system.     A new player on getting back into the pilot's seat

    Three days after being given my first Sidewinder, I upgraded to an Asp Explorer and headed directly out of the Bubble, bound for a random, lonely arm of the spiral galaxy.

    After a bit of damage from dipping too low while refueling and a bit more from powering up the "Friendship Drive", as my ship's AI calls it, too close to a star, I steadily got more used to the maneuver. Nearly 100 jumps later, I managed to get 3000LY out, somewhere the systems appear to be utterly unvisited, and where my Asp's virgin trip would hit a bump. A small bump in the form of a heavy metal planet I decided to try to land on.

    Now, after learning how to work the power distributor in route, I was able to get my Asp's top speed up to 260m/s, so when my my ship's downward velocity exceeded 500m/s towards what would be my final destination, I realized there might be a problem. In my panic I foolishly forgot to deploy my landing gear; I'm certain that would have saved me. After bouncing off the ground once and my lonely AI screaming something about my hull's integrity, I found myself awakening 3000LY away back safe and sound in the Bubble.

    However, I decided to refuse to turn away from what I had begun. After purchasing the replacement Asp, I looked in my records and found the very system my first voyage ended in, set it as my destination, and spent the next 3 hours jumping back. I turned my eyes to the planet that took me down and decided that that 2.76G of heavy metal gravity might be a bit much, so I landed on a nearby 0.12G moon instead and shook my fist in defiance at it from a safe distance.

    I then launched and turned my head back towards the dream of wandering the stars, alone with only my ship's AI and her constantly charging "Friendship Drive", continuously seeing what beauties and what perils awaits us one more system out.

    Can't believe a game this old looks and sounds and plays as good as it does. This is everything I wanted from NMS and even has stuff I never knew I wanted lol. Don't even get me started on Star Citizen because I'm sorry but this game blows that bug-infested never-ending mess out of the water (or should I say, space). I tried SC before even considering ED and I was pretty disappointed. Plus, Odyssey will make ED even more of a competitor, too.

    Anyway, I just made my first million mostly from courier and delivery missions with a few bounties sprinkled in. I'm debating whether I wanna get into mining or stick to fighting/exploration. I'm currently flying a Viper MkIV and looking to upgrade soon. Any tips or suggestions? I understand the game can be played however you want, just curious to hear some feedback from veteran cmdrs.
