    People keep talking about the poor release of Odyssey being the "men in suits" fault, and not the developers and David Braben. David Braben is the man in the suit.

    Point is, you can't say that "the men in suits" ruined this game then praise the likes of Braben. He is the #1 stunner, the man in da suit. He imploded his own game.

    Consumers Can't 'Fix' Frontier, and the Management Won't, the Problem is Labor Standards in the Whole Industry

    Seeing a lot of posts about how the problem is Frontier's investors, or Frontier's management, or us for buying an unfinished game, the fundamental problem is an industry that treats developers like shit because it can, and as long as developers put up with it, they will never be able to make the quality of games they claim to want.

    Why is is that Marvel never puts out an unfinished movie? Or Taylor Swift never puts out an unfinished record? Because the people working at these companies are highly skilled and have unions and guilds that negotiate the time and the space they need to do quality work industry-wide. The video game industry is the exact opposite, and the market can't fix that, because the market hates the union and guild systems that allow for quality work.

    If you want Frontier to be better, it does no good to yell at the developers (who are constantly turning over and miserable) or the execs (who exploit their misery because no one is stopping them) or even the shareholders (who tolerate this shit because every video game company does it and it doesn't impact profits). The only way forward is large developer unions/guilds across all the companies, even and especially the ones where the workforce has less turnover then Frontier.

    Despite everything we see in elite (and our RL universe), this image still boggles my mind the most. It's a random zoom to Odin's Hold and is only about 20ly across. The Milky Way is 100,000ly across, and is just one of 200,000,000,000 galaxies.

    The Azaladshu Free faction has defeated the forces of Neche Inc and retained independence from the Federation.

    As a result, the Azaladshu, LFT 824, LHS 277 and LTT 3919 systems have confirmed their independent status. The victory also inspired the Coalition of Uteran, Lp 726-6 Free and Gluscap Labor factions to secede from the Federation, affecting all systems under their control.

    Mayor Constanza Noguera, leader of Azaladshu Free, declared:

    "A Federation that abuses the rights of its people has no authority. With the help of our loyal supporters, we've made a stand for dignity and civil rights."

    The situation has caused turmoil in Congress, with President Zachary Hudson being criticized for his inability to contain this rebellion.

    Shadow President Felicia Winters responded to accusations that she orchestrated the seceding factions:

    "I support their rejection of our harsh surveillance laws, but not their methods of protest. I have no wish to see the Federation lose member systems for any reason."

    Pilots who supported the Azaladshu Free faction can collect their rewards at Eratosthenes Ring station.
