Posted: 25 Nov 2021 11:15 AM PST So I logged on for the first time in like a month and I guess I forgot that I docked on a carrier before I jumped off last time. Turns out that this carrier jumps from different systems to systems while providing a place for people to fuel up and do repairs. I get back on today and I'm in a whole new different system on a different part of the galaxy from where I was before when I last logged off. I soon realized that, because the carrier jumped so far away from anything, I can only access like four different star systems. I can't jump anywhere else with my Cobra because everything is too spread out. Anybody got advice or can help me hitch a ride out from where I'm at? Posted: 25 Nov 2021 07:39 AM PST She's pretty good at video games and I've got a feeling she will catch on, but she's never played any flight games before. I've got close to 1500 hours in, so I know most ins and outs of the game. Should I have her sit in my passenger seat in the Cobra to start out with, and go over all the basic functions? Or escort her little sidewinder around and let her be hands on from the get go. Any tips or information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance CMDRs o7 Edit: I've received so many helpful tips, thank you so much to the CMDRs who took their time to express to me what they genuinely think will help. Y'all are legends, and ever helpful when people have questions. Thanks again! [link] [comments]

Just a fresh reminder to everyone that the engineered enzyme missiles are a joke Posted: 25 Nov 2021 12:34 PM PST Cons 1. Doesn't apply the damage/DOT through shields like the Thargoids caustic missiles 2. Has pitiful impact damage when it contacts the ship 3. The damage over time is negligible and doesn't stack with itself, so to get any benefit you have to wait several seconds between reapplying the debuff. 4. Can barely damage on foot troops, and doesn't apply caustic to them Pros 1. They're kinda pretty to shoot, but the regular tech broker versions are just as fine [link] [comments]

Giving back, receiving thanks. Posted: 25 Nov 2021 09:00 AM PST Hi everyone. In my own head cannon, my CMDR celebrates old earth traditions (despite not being born there and only hearing about them in the history books). Today, I'm thankful for my Asp Scout, "Fly Fast, Get Gas", and I am finding as many distress signals as I can to offer repairs and refueling (as well as scaring off pirates when applicable) in my home system. I never could find much use for my Scout aside from as a fuel-rat esque build, so I'm saving as many virtual lives as i can and wishing them a happy turkey day. I feel like it would be neat to start little in-game traditions like this, and wanted to share in the hopes that some others (if they're playing today) might follow suit. [link] [comments]

Coming from Xbox I'm finding it hard to get enthusiastic about playing. Posted: 25 Nov 2021 06:00 PM PST I've been a fan of Elite Dangerous for a long time, I even backed the Kickstarter. I backed knowing I didn't have a PC to play on because I really wanted to see the game get made. When it came out for Xbox I became a suporter again with the Xbox Game Preview Program. I've played the game on and off since it's been on console. I'm not super far or rich but I have a LOT of fun playing and being the space man I always wanted to be. Now I actually have a PC that's capable of playing the game at a decent quality. However, I'm not able to bring up the enthusiasm to play and the reason why is a bit silly. See, over the years I've acquired a good deal of cosmetics for the game. Some through promotions or in game events and some bought with money. I've easily spent a few hundred pounds on the game for cosmetics and I'm OK with that. I enjoy everything I've bought. The issue is that everything I've acquired is for the Xbox version of the game and Frontier Developments have decided not to make these things usable on any other systems. I find it disheartening and just can't bring myself to play knowing I can't use any of the cosmetics that I've earned or purchased. Everything is tied to my Frontier account so why can't it be used when I sign into that same account on a different system? I'm not asking for cross play or even cross save, though both should be available as well. I just want the cosmetics. I can earn credits and ships again. I'd be all for buying more cosmetics in the future too, but I just can't bring myself to play. This issue just really bothers me and feels so icky that I lose interest almost immediately. Am I alone here? Are these super selfish thoughts I'm having? Edit just to say, I've asked Frontier about this. They told me they won't do it. The can delete my Xbox pilot and transfer all the assets in the form of credits to my PC profile but we all know that credits are easy enough to come by. [link] [comments]

Posted: 25 Nov 2021 04:53 AM PST Dredger Update initiative successful We did it! I can't tell you how proud I am of the community. We all did our best, fought for days and nights, many of us invested their private funds to make this victory for the Scriveners possible, and we indeed succeeded in granting them their freedom! While I would very much like to single out Commanders who I believe were crucial for the success of this operation, I believe that any attempt to do so would only alienate us from each other and miss the point of our selfless cooperation. The fact that we did not do this for ourselves, but for the Scriveners, is the main point and should be written in stone as a reminder that anything is possible as long as we work together. No matter where you come from and whether it's Cannon, another squadron, or you're just an independent pilot who chose to help a people in need, your contribution was relevant! We did the right thing and we all can be proud of it. Many of your names will reverberate through the bubble for long long time, and some of them will have reached the inhabitants of the Dredger by now. o7 Commanders. Don't you ever forget what we accomplished in this week. May the Voidseeker guide your vessels. [link] [comments]
